Who are we?
The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. ~ Saint Augustine
My name is Marianne (sometimes known as sweetpeeps – or peeps for short) and I am a ‘recovering’ criminal lawyer, EFL teacher, neophyte blogger, petrol-head, amateur photographer, traveller, English woman, life-long Batman admirer and shameless arctophile – go ahead, look it up!
I live in southern Spain and love to travel the world with my friend, Edward the Bear!
In 2009 we had a three month adventure which took us right around the world. Maybe you followed our adventures on another blog we had at the time called Around The World in 90 Postcards. Did you receive a real handwritten postcard from us?
In 2010 we were once again Flying South For The Winter, to spend four months in Australia and New Zealand.
But this time, we are just going to carry on blogging …. wherever we are!

Sounds like a fun blog for sure! Thanks for visiting mine and leaving me a ‘Like’ 🙂
Oh it´s lots of fun taking Edward´s photo everywhere we go. We often make people smile and Edward makes lots of friends along the way!
You are most welcome. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my post. Enjoyed looking around your blog as well and seeing all the places you and Edward have been! 🙂
Your blog has a good, honest, down-to-earth approach. I like that. Well done!
After shorter trips around Spain over the summertime, Edward and I are planning on returning to Australia and/or New Zealand in late November. I wonder what we will be getting up to this time LOL!
Thank you for your kind words. How fortunate that you two get to travel like you do! I wish you safe travels and loads of fun!
Edward is adorable and looks none the worse for wear. What a fabulous life you both have! Thank you for stopping by to visit. It gives me the opportunity to get to know Edward (and peeps)
😉
Well, in truth, Edward does look a little worse for wear as he has to sneak onboard as a stowaway so often – but he wears it well 😉
Thanks for your kind comments and I look forward to getting to know you better, too. 🙂
And I did look,it up, hehe! Beary cool.
LOL
Love your blog … and Edward!! Such a photogenic bear 🙂 I look forward to following your ongoing travels. Thanks for stopping by my blog on the way. Perhaps one day our paths will cross. I’ll keep an eye out for Edward as I travel.
Thanks for visiting – and we´ll look our for you too!
Edward’s cute! I’ve always wanted to bring a teddy bear along on my travels and compile a collection of photos of it with all the sights and wonders. Somehow that didn’t work out…Meanwhile, thanks for stopping by our blog and liking our latest post. Much appreciated!
I LOVE taking Edward travelling. It´s surprising how many people comment when I am taking his photo and have ended up making friends (Edward as well as me) along the way.
I particularly enjoyed your last Fantasy Friday post as we were in Phuket and Ko Phi Phi earlier this year. Lovely memories of a trip around SE Asia.
Thanks for visiting and for your comments.
You’re welcome and am glad you enjoyed the last post too 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog 😀 – I love the idea of Edward and Peeps!
Thanks, Travelbunny. Maybe you could take a rabbit on your travels with you, instead of a bear? 😉
Edward is every bit the urbane, sophisticated travel companion. Lucky you.
Yes, and to think that I originally rescued Edward from a thrift shop. He is the perfect travel companion. 🙂
Thrifty too! Better still. One doesn’t want companions who will blow the budget.
How creative you are. I love this. Reminds me of a project my daughter had to do. She sent a stuffed animal to her grandparents and they had to take the little guy everywhere they went throughout the school year. It was so fun to get the journal back of all his travels. I am so looking forward to keeping up with Edward’s travels. 😀
Hahaha … sounds like more of a project your parents had to do! LOL
You know, it´s strange – I started doing this as a bit of fun, and then a friend who is a school teacher told their class of 8 year-olds about the project – they started following the original blog (when I sent a postcard a day from wherever I was) – and the rest, they say, is history.
I’ve never been jealous of a bear before. Think Edward would swop places for a while- he has a nice coat to keep him warm.
Ha ha ha great photo, just about to start trawling through your blog, looks like fun.
Enjoy! I normally only update here when we are actually away travelling, but recently I´ve reblogged some posts from an old blog. New travels beginning again soon 🙂
We have a workaway (have you heard of them?) staying with us. She left the USA for a 7 month trip around the world. She was originally supposed to stay a week or two with us, but 2 months later she is still here…
Excellent! I hope she is having a great time, but tell her not to forget there is a big wide world out there to explore, too! 🙂
We are sending her down to Sicily to stay with Mrs Sensibles mum. We think she needs fattening up before she flies off to the UK.
LOL
Hello Edward!
I am waving to you all the way from Asia 🙂
Hello Guyito
Waving at you from Sydney, Australia where we are at the moment! 🙂
This is a fun blog! Edward looks like he knows how to enjoy himself where ever in the world he goes.
